Enable Internet Tethering on iPhone 3G-3GS [Solved]

Apple and AT&T are playing hide and seek with the rest of the worlds by turning internet tethering feature on and off according to AT&T’s whims. Today i have upgraded my iPhone 3G from iOS 4.1 to iOS 4.2.1 and realize that the Internet Tethering option was gone. And i have started searching for solution of “internet tethering not showing up on iPhone 3G or 3Gs” and tried so many softwares from Cydia but none looks promising to me.

So finally after putting so much of effort i have decided to downgrade my iOS back to 4.1(8B117). I have successfully downgrade to version 4.1(8B117) but again shocked by not seeing the Internet Tethering option which was used to be there in the Settings >> General >> Network

Solution of Internet Tethering Option Not Visible on iPhone 3G or 3GS

Prerequisites:

- You can have maximum One of the below iOS version in your iPhone 3G or 3GS. I have verified with the below given iOS version.

• iPhone 3G – iOS 4.0_8A293
• iPhone 3G – iOS 4.1_8B117
• iPHone 3G – iOS 3.1.3_7E18
• iPhone 3GS – iOS 4.1_8B117

- Your iPhone must be unlocked and jailbreak.

- So now lets see how to enable and start internet tethering in iPhone.

1. First Navigate to Settings >> General >> Network >> Cellular data Network.
2. Enter APN name of your network provider in the Cellular data Network screen.
3. Enable 3G and Cellular Data Network and Rebootyour iPhone





4. Now you will find the Internet Tethering Option available under the Network Section.

Just Enable Internet Tethering Option and choose your connectivity either as USB or Bluetooth and start browsing geekblogger.org

Note: Tethering DOES NOT work on iPhone 3G 4.2.1 for most of the users worldwide, but there are few exists whose network providers support the Tethering natively.
