If you are using blogger blog to stay connected with your readers and followers, then there is a red alert for you, because few days back one of my friend has got one mail which seems to be came from blogger team and was asking for blogger credentials to activate the blogs which are currently in-active state in his blogger account.

If you get these type of mails, never open it and enter your credentials, because the sender is a phisher, do you know phishing?? In the field of computer security, phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.

In simple words phishing involves ” To Steal username and password and other private information from the users, by divulging or pretending that user is on correct site”. Let me ask you one thing, have you ever experienced that on some sites when you tries to login and after giving user name and password you get redirected to the Google.com page or something like that? if yes then you become victim of phishing.

Now let’s see how your blogger account may hack ?

1) Suppose some one has sent you mail you which contains content like given below here.

Because there are so many inactive blogs we’ve decided that their administrators have to go here : http://myinactive.blogspot.com/ and confirm there’s still working on them.

- After clicking on the URL from the mail, you will be redirected to the page which will looks like a blogger login page (See below screen and notice URL in the browser (Note: Google has removed this blog address already, so you will not find it now).

- If you enter your credential then your private information will be automatically send to the owner of that website, now he knows your blogger account credentials and he can use it anytime.

- If you ever experienced that you have redirected somewhere after click on Login, change your user account information immediately.

    Hi! This is kind of off topic but I need some help from an established blog. Is it very hard to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I’m thinking about setting up my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do

    • If you want to learn blogging, you can use blogspot.com blogs and if you want self hosted blog then you should go with WordPress.org in which you must require hosting space and a domain name. so it’s not hard at all you can start it with ease. Let me know if you require any help at any stage.
